The role of AAI

 

The roles and relationship between Australian Alliance Insurance Company Ltd (AAI), Australian Pensioners Insurance Agency Pty Ltd (Apia), Shannons Ltd (Shannons) and InsureMyRide Pty Ltd (InsureMyRide)

AAI is authorised by the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) to carry on insurance business pursuant to the Insurance Act 1973.

AAI is also the holder of an Australian Financial Securities Licence (AFSL) issued by Australian Securities & Investments Commission (ASIC). It's AFSL permits it to deal in and provide financial product advice in respect to, general insurance products.

Apia, Shannons and InsureMyRide are each Authorised Representatives and wholly owned subsidiaries of AAI, and each acts as AAI's agent to enter into contracts of insurance on behalf of AAI as insurer, and settle claims on behalf of AAI.
